The Forks Mural

Overview.
The Fishtown Neighbors Association is a local organization dedicated to connecting neighbors, preserving Fishtown’s unique character, and creating opportunities to improve and beautify the neighborhood.

Project.
The Fishtown Neighbors Association approached me to design six crosswalk murals for The Forks, a busy five-point intersection in the heart of Fishtown. The designs needed to reflect the neighborhood, remain simple enough for community painting, and avoid colors commonly used in traffic signage. Inspired by Fishtown’s gardens, parks, and aquatic history, I created a series of playful patterns featuring fish, plant life, and oversized flowers. The project was ultimately put on hold before the murals could be painted due to complications with an unrelated project.
